About Peter Soeth
Working in Public Affairs for Federal government for more than 30 years has exposed me to a variety of communications challenges that turned into successes and taught me a lot that I continue to use in my job. I am always working on a wide range of issues, balancing these issues is important to ensure success in these communication efforts. I have a strong background in corporate communications, specifically in media relations, strategic communications, crisis communications, stakeholder and customer communication, internal communications and social media. I am experienced working with local, regional and national media on stories, both pitching them and responding to their inquiries in a timely and accurate fashion.Strategic and crisis communications is one of my strong points. In working with a Federal agency, we communicate to a wide range of interested parties including employees, customers, stakeholders, congress and the public. Developing communications strategies is important to ensure that all parties receive the correct information at the right time. I have developed communication strategies that have turned the opinion around and also minimized coverage of critical issues.I am experienced in social media being active on Twitter (now X), Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. I also serve as the senior advisor to our agencies social media team. Social media offers an inexpensive way to leverage communications to reach various communities. I have managed contracts to leverage needs that we didn’t have including Cision and TV Eyes, software applications that help us manage, track and monitor communications with and by the media. I have been involved with web design since the mid-1990’s and have experience with static websites, cascading stylesheets, and content management systems.
