Corporate Counsel - Supply @Expedia Group

London, GB

On the air side, I support some of Expedia\'s highest-value airline accounts globally — negotiating supply agreements with major carriers and structuring deals that align with the business\'s strategic goals. I also advise on air connectivity, which covers everything from NDC implementation agreements and GDS distribution contracts to API integration deals that plug Expedia\'s platforms into airline inventory. One of the more interesting pieces of work here was negotiating an AI airfare price prediction technology deal. I also built the contracting framework from scratch for Expedia\'s new third-party packages business, getting the foundational supply and connectivity agreements over the line to enable launch.I lead legal support for Expedia Cruises — a 260-store franchise network and OTA operating across the US and Canada. That means I negotiate all cruise line supply agreements, own Franchise Disclosure Document compliance with our franchise counsel, and handle post-termination enforcement when franchisees need to de-brand. I\'m also the go-to for franchise operations on anything from independent contractor classification, to policy development. I travel to deliver legal negotiation training to the cruise commercial team and keep regular check-ins going with franchise leadership so issues get caught early.

ABOUT PETER SHANDLEY

I\'m a technology-focused commercial lawyer at Expedia Group, where I advise one of the world\'s largest online travel platforms on complex technology, data, and supply transactions across 30+ markets.I lead legal support for Expedia Cruises, a 260-store franchise network and online travel agency operating across the US and Canada. I own the full legal landscape for that business: negotiating cruise line supply agreements with the world\'s leading cruise operators, ensuring Franchise Disclosure Document compliance across multiple US states and Canadian provinces, enforcing post-termination obligations, advising on franchisee AI and data privacy policies, and delivering legal training programmes directly to the commercial and franchise teams. It\'s a role that blends franchise law, supply-side deal-making and cross-border regulatory navigation — and I love the breadth of it.I also support some of Expedia\'s highest-value air accounts and air connectivity deals — a space that spans everything from NDC and GDS integration agreements through to AI-powered airfare price prediction tools. It\'s fast-moving, commercially complex work where technology and supply strategy constantly intersect.Beyond cruises and air, I\'m deeply involved in AI and emerging technology contracting. I negotiated Expedia\'s enterprise LLM services agreement and designed an AI-powered contract analysis workflow that uses generative AI to analyse contractual risk.Earlier in my career I cut my teeth on global real estate transactions at Expedia and hotel management and franchise agreements at Hilton, where I qualified as a solicitor through the SRA\'s equivalent means route while working full-time.I\'m always happy to connect with people working at the intersection of law, technology, and travel.
