About Pegah Shahriari
I\'m an attorney and content engineer with diverse experience spanning editorial and content strategy, curation, programming, and policy management. In 2019, I joined Meta to work on video experience and content understanding for multiple products, which included extensive data analytics, trend forecasting, curation, and collaboration with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Policy teams. I have also been a licensed attorney with the California State Bar since 2008.As an attorney, I was involved in social justice initiatives and spent time as the Director of Legal Services of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang re-entry program in the world, which provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated people. I also co-authored and helped pass the LA Fair Chance Ordinance, a law designed to reduce barriers to employment and housing for residents with criminal records (passed in 2018).Outside of work, I’m active in comedy writing and performance (3x Upright Citizens Brigade Diversity Scholarship Recipient).
