ABOUT PETER SALVITTI

As the Chief Technologist at Boston College, I work with the senior leadership of Information Technology Services to set the strategic direction for solution development and guide the R&D efforts at the University. I have over 12 years of experience in this role, and I hold a Master\'s degree in Cybersecurity Policy and Governance, a Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology, and an A.S. in Computer Engineering.My core competencies include IT strategy and advice, IT solution design and implementation, enterprise architecture, application architecture and design, distributed systems design and implementation, web services design and implementation, emerging web technologies, and team leadership. I am passionate about simplifying complex and inefficient enterprise architectures to increase business value and operational improvement. I also focus on enhancing faculty, staff, and student insights through analytics and mobility, and on developing the cloud computing and virtualization strategy for the University. I collaborate with the CIO and other stakeholders to identify and implement best of breed technologies and IT business practices that align with the University\'s vision and goals.
