The Director, Community Resilience collaborates with teams and departments across the organization to develop and implement strategies that mitigate the negative effects of toxic stress and trauma, prevent or reduce the severity of behavioral health conditions among children, youth and families, and promote resilience to strengthen overall health and wellness in communities across Baltimore City. This position works to align funding and resources to support grassroots organizations/initiatives through capacity building, technical assistance, policy change, and community engagement. A priority for this position is to use “co-design processes” in which community members are seen as experts of their own experience and are key to participating in the design and implementation of strategies and programs that support resilience. Through this process, power is intentionally shared with community members, which deepens collaboration and supports shared decision-making among community members. This position oversees BHSB’s resilience work, which includes both the community engagement and the prevention work.
