About Paul Rothschild
I currently serve as the Managing Director of Operations for the Illinois Coalition to End Permanent Punishments (ENDPP.ORG), where we advocate for the rights and dignity of people with criminal records through grassroots campaigns, coalition building, and policy reform. As a 2025 Fellow in the FICGN FIELD Leadership Program, I’m part of a national cohort of formerly incarcerated leaders developing tools to drive systemic change. In 2024, I completed JustLeadershipUSA’s Leading with Conviction program, a transformational experience that sharpened my voice and deepened my commitment to decarceration and second chances. With over 25 years of cross-sector experience in technology, business, and healthcare, I bring a strategic, systems-focused lens to nonprofit leadership. Since joining ENDPP.ORG in May 2023, I’ve helped power the Fully Free Campaign and Clean Slate Illinois, two statewide initiatives working to end permanent punishment and expand access to housing, employment, education, and civic life for people with records.I also lead the Movement Mix-Tape Project, a national music initiative that amplifies the voices of formerly incarcerated artists. By blending art, advocacy, and narrative power, the project challenges harmful myths about incarceration and helps build sustainable careers for system impacted creatives. My leadership in business operations, IT, finance, and HR combined with my lived experience including a 10 year mandatory minimum federal sentence uniquely position me to help ENDPP.ORG grow, scale, and disrupt systems of harm. This work is personal. I’ve seen the devastating impact of incarceration on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and I’ve also experienced the privileges that can ease the path home. That contrast fuels my commitment to reentry, restoration, and a world where no one is defined by their worst moment.
