About Prospero Herrera
I am an urban planner with a desire to use my passion and experience in community development to plan, design, and build sustainable communities in the U.S. and abroad. I have 15 years of experience working directly with non-profit programs in marginalized communities in New York City, Miami, and the San Francisco Bay Area. As a non-profit leader, I focus on managing teams and partnerships with data-informed decision-making involving analysis of new programs, strategic planning, logic models, change management, and client enrollment and outcomes. I have extensive experience in fundraising and special event planning, budget planning, grant writing, building partnerships with other community-based organizations, and leading volunteers and youth to deliver quality coaching and mentorship. Additionally, I have overseen and facilitated the modernization of the Theory of Change and Strategic Framework for the City in the Community Foundation, the charity supported by NYCFC. I have also established partnerships with District Attorney’s Offices, Community Boards, City Council and State Assembly Members, and media production companies.
