Situation- The Empowerment Council at CAMH represents the voices of clients and individuals with lived experience to ensure that hospital programs and services remain accountable, transparent, and responsive to community needs. The Control Quality Committee focuses on auditing program performance and promoting quality improvements.Task- Provide ongoing feedback and advocacy for CAMH clients by contributing lived-experience insights and professional research expertise during program and service audits, while representing the Empowerment Council in meetings with CAMH leadershipAction- Attend regular meetings with CAMH health and psychiatric management to review program performance, client outcomes, and service-quality metrics- Ask technical questions related to KPIs, audit criteria, and continuous-improvement processes- Offer evidence-informed perspectives based on lived experience and dual master’s-level research background- Take detailed notes, interpret discussions, and prepare concise summaries and briefing reports for the Empowerment Council- Collaborate with committee members to align recommendations with CAMH’s strategic priorities and patient-centered care frameworks.Result- Strengthen communication between clients, management, and clinical teams- Contribute to actionable recommendations that enhance accountability and service delivery- Advance the Empowerment Council’s mission to integrate lived experience into CAMH’s decision-making and quality-assurance practices.
