I currently work in supported living where I support ten services users with a range of needs and mental health issues. The people that are deemed vulnerable in society. Our main objective is to keep the service users safe and well. We also support service users with daily tasks and all plans person centred to support their needs This includes Cleaning support Emotional support Shopping support Medical Appointment\'s Planning social events for the project Art and music play Financial Support -( Benefit & Housing) Social planning Writing plans Joint working with Social workers, medical, groups, Liaising with family
ABOUT JACQUELINE B.
I have worked in a variety of fields throughout my life such as sales, marketing, events and management but through my own life experiences I discovered my passion for the Care sector and Mental Health I moved to Nottingham in 2014 to care for my mother whilst working full time over a 6 year period. This gave me significant insight into the care industry where I managed her attendance at all health care appointments, hospital care and rehabilitation care. I was in liaison with health visitors constantly and provided support for my mother at home before she was admitted to a care home 5 months before her passing. I found the experience highly rewarding and it has inspired me to train and develop my knowledge in the mental health sector. In December I completed Level 1 in Health and social care. I currently work on the front-line of mental health services, supporting female and male patients in a medium secure Acute ward. Patients present high levels of challenging behaviours including individuals with high risk of self-harming, substance misuse problems or a history of trauma. My role involves responding to incidents, verbally de-escalating and giving debriefs, also assessing patient risk, working with care plans, liaising with OTs, NIC, and ward manager to supporting them to enable the service user to the next stage towards their rehabilitation and recovery.
