About Hal T. Nelson

In addition to teaching, the best part of being an academic for me is researching pressing social and environmental problems. I started developing software because it is a very cost-efficient way to scale-up best practices; for both social theory as well as data analytics. Not every organization can hire Ph.D. data scientists, but instead decision support software can leverage existing staff resources to improve business and social outcomes across a range of concerns.
