ABOUT ABIGAIL GREGORY
I am a former senior academic and researcher with a long record of transformational leadership at University, School and Faculty level. I offer in-depth understanding of strategic leadership, internationalisation and gender equality and enjoy leading pioneering bold, imaginative initiatives and cultivating productive (global) partnerships across academia and industry. I maintain an unswerving commitment to excellence in all I do: as Director of Academic Strategy at Pagoda Projects, and as an independent HE Consultant, Executive Coach and Mentor. University leadership roles have included Faculty Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Faculty Head of International and Associate Dean International for large multidisciplinary academic units, covering arts, business and law, media and the humanities. I possess an excellent understanding of recruitment, marketing, strategic planning, operations, finance, human resource management and quality assurance, and have sponsored major capital and strategic projects. I am a Fellow of the CMI. I am passionate about internationalisation in HE and the multiple benefits it brings. I have worked across cultures and disciplines to develop innovative internationalisation strategies and create student-focused, income-generating activities worldwide, particularly in East and South-East Asia and North America. I have been a Department of International Trade Export Champion and was awarded an MBE for services to exports in 2019. My commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is equally significant. I have led Athena SWAN gender equality accreditations in two universities, championed women in HE through my engagement with Aurora and the Women in Higher Education Network, and carried out cross-national collaborative research on gender, work and organisation throughout my academic career. My new career direction successfully combines core strengths in leadership, strategic thinking, and coaching and mentoring with strong personal values spanning integrity, EDI and continuous learning and improvement. As a natural collaborator and connector of people, I greatly enjoy sharing my knowledge and expertise – please DM me to get in touch.
