ABOUT LESLEY ANDERSON

Professor of Health Data Science and interdisciplinary institute Director for Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing at the University of Aberdeen. My work focuses on the implementation of data-driven innovation, particularly in cancer, radiology, and digital health, using AI and routine data to improve outcomes across diverse populations. I lead and collaborate on interdisciplinary research with a strong emphasis on real-world impact, working across academic, clinical, and industry sectors. I’m especially interested in ensuring technologies are evaluated and embedded in ways that are safe, robust, reproducible, sustàinable, and equitable. I contribute to funding and advisory panels, speak regularly at conferences and work internationally to support evidence-based health improvement. My focus is on translating complex data into meaningful, scalable change, especially in screening, diagnosis, and system-wide implementation.
