ABOUT JEFF MCDONALD
A registered Chartered Engineer and Chartered Manager with an entire career (40+ years) in the energy industry, working the last 30 years executing major projects and modifications for most of the major oil & gas upstream and downstream companies, and currently working at the forefront of the transition to cleaner energy integration within the business.My knowledge is extensive with a vast projects, contracts, and multi-discipline engineering and design experience (conceptual, front end engineering design, and engineering, procurement and contracting) for oil and gas refineries and fertilisers industries. This has included the design and construction of onshore central processing facilities, refineries, offshore platforms and drilling rigs, as well as the modification and upgrade of operating facilities.I gained significant management / leadership experience in several positions, with multi-discipline responsibility for implementation of construction modifications managing design engineering teams (several hundred) engineers/designers) and construction teams construction supervisors/technicians) during major upgrades or new build projects.In leadership roles, I have assumed full accountability for the financial and technical success of all projects, this included planning, organising, coordinating, and controlling domestic and international projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company.My display of unique man-management skills and empathy in a multi-cultural (and challenging) environment, allied with the ability to combine extensive practical experience and learned knowledge to real life situations gives a ‘common-sense\' approach to problem solving.As a Technical Authority, I take full responsibility for provision of technical resources, systems and processes, and technical assurance across the regional business that I operate in.I have led contract start-ups and managed complex interfaces for new businesses across the Russian, Caspian and the Africa Region ensuring they are in strict compliance with governmental laws in the host countries.
