ABOUT PIETRO MASTELLONE
Pietro Mastellone, born in Florence (Italy) in 1981, is an Italian-British international tax lawyer enrolled in the College of Advocates of Florence admitted to represent clients before the Italian Supreme Courts (Avvocato cassazionista) and Chartered accountant (Dottore commercialista).Graduated at the age of 23 in Laws (University of Florence), in 2020 he has obtained his second degree in Economics and Commerce (University of Bologna).In 2006 he was conferred the degree of Adv. LL.M. in European Union Business Law (with specialisation in International and European Tax Law) at the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands).At the age of 26 he successfully passed the bar exam.In 2013 he was awarded a Ph.D. in Public and Tax Law in the European Dimension (University of Bergamo).Post-doc in Tax Law at the University of Florence (2014-17), at the Sapienza University of Rome (2022-23) and at the Ca\' Foscari University of Venice (2023-24).On 15 September 2025, he has been appointed as Associate Professor of Tax Law at the University of Studies e-Campus.He has acquired strong expertise in the following areas: international and European tax law, tax crimes, energy taxation and excise duties, taxation of cryptoassets, environmental taxation, real property tax issues, tax profiles of M&A, tax issues of wine producers, tax planning of artists and sportspersons, wealth planning and intergenerational transfer of business activities, legal and tax assistance in the creation of trusts and other similar instruments, legal assistance in procedures for elders and vulnerable clients.He also provides assistance in litigation before Lower Courts and before the Italian Supreme Court in tax matters and criminal tax proceedings. He drafts legal and tax memorandums, and assists clients in pre-litigation procedures with the Italian Tax Authorities (e.g. preliminary rulings, tax settlements, advance tax agreements, etc.).Active member of the Editorial Committees of Rivista Trimestrale di Diritto Tributario (Giappichelli, Turin) and of Rivista di Diritto Tributario Internazionale (Sapienza University Press, Rome).Lecturer in post-graduate programmes in tax law at the University of Florence, at the University of Turin, at the University “Bocconi” of Milan, at the Catholic University of the “Sacred Heart” of Milan, at the University LUMSA of Rome, at the University “La Sapienza” of Rome and at the University of Siena.Sailor, rock drummer and blue belt of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
