ABOUT W. DIETER PAAR
From 1980 to 1986, Professor Dr. Dieter W. Paar studied medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn. Following his approbation in 1986 he graduated with \"summa cum laude” in 1987. After his time as an assistant physician at the Medical University Hospital Bonn in General Internal Medicine, he received the board certification as a Doctor in Internal Medicine in 1995. Other professional qualification led to the attainment of specialist certifications \"Nephrology\", and \"Special Internal Intensive Medicine.\" Since his Ph.D, the specific scientific interest of Professor Paar is focused on Clinical Pharmacology and Internal Medicine. In 1998, he completed his postdoctoral qualification (“Habilitation”) with studies on liver metabolism of an analgesic. In 2001 he started working in the medical-scientific department of a research-based pharmaceutical company. In 2008 he was appointed as Professor of Internal Medicine at the Medical Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University, Bonn. His teaching extends to Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology. Also since 2008 he is heading the Medical Department, Sanofi-Aventis Germany. In 2011 SANOFI established a Multi Country Organization (MCO) Germany-Switzerland-Austria. Since that time he is leading the MCO Medical Department. He has published more than 75 peer reviewed journal articles. W. Dieter Paar is married and father of three children.
