The association \"Wir bauen auf heimisches Holz e.V.\"(We Build with Local Wood) was founded out of the pilot project \"Regional Timber Chain Southeast Upper Bavaria\"(„Regionale Holzkette Südostoberbayern\") of the Cluster Initiative Forestry and Timber in Bavaria. The association focuses on working with the entire wood value chain in Southeast Upper Bavaria, including private, state, municipal and corporate forest owners and the roundwood trade, as well as sawmills and sawnwood traders, carpenters and timber construction companies, joiners and interior decorators, architects, planners and decision-makers in cities and municipalities. The goal of the association is to enable and optimise cooperation within the region to benefit all members of the value chain to be more sustainable, including supporting the local businesses, promoting construction in wood and reducing transportation distances.
