ABOUT ATHANASIOS PETRIDIS
For the last 23 years I am working as a neurosurgeon. I worked as a program director in oncological Neurosurgery for 3.5 years as well as for spine Neurosurgery. For 6 years until 2021, I was serving as director of the vascular Neurosurgery program at the University of Duesseldorf. Through Brainglobal we are establishing vascular neurosurgery in Subsaharan, central Africa. This happens under my supervision and surgeries performed by me in these countries. Aim is to train the lokal neurosurgeons to become familiar with vascular neurosurgery and be able to treat vascular neurosurgical cases completely autonomous. I am teaching ethics in medicine at the institute of ethics and history of medicine of the medical school at the university of düsseldorf where I am a professor. Last but not least I have become an honorary lecturer of neurosurgery at MUHAS university in Tanzania.
