Responsibilities included: • Managing evolving projects and design teams to support the delivery of a £360 million of Design and Construct capital investment (SR15••••••21) in large scale potable water infrastructure projects on behalf of Scottish Water • Leading on major civil engineering schemes in particular water and drainage infrastructure projects • Providing valuable support to Senior Project Managers/Project Managers throughout the project design and delivery cycle from inception to detailed design • Identifying the need for design resources and specialist input (ecological, geotechnical, hydraulic modelling, MEICA, etc.) • Interfacing effectively with external stakeholders and focusing on delivering best value for AECOM’s clients • Mentoring technical design staff and helping to provide opportunities for learning and development • Maintaining an up to date technical knowledge of design and drafting • Undertaking appropriate research and investigation into any design modifications and improvements • Identifying and implementing best practice procedures • Ensuring the requirements of the Designer and Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations are met • Supporting the preparation of the ePMP, project programme and cost estimation • Managing the design elements of project to programme, cost and quality requirements • Managing the preparation of the Engineering Estimating Schedule (EES) and liaising with the CWA estimating team to incorporate non-standard construction activities or risks • Reviewing and signing off H&S documentation including Design Risk Assessments and Pre-Construction Information
