ABOUT JORDON PROCTOR
Early in my career, I was a software sales rep. I was decent at it. But what it really taught me was how to read a room, specifically the room where someone is about to decide whether your product is worth their money and their trust.I think about that room a lot when I\'m designing.I\'ve spent the last decade in product design, across both complex B2B products and consumer-facing applications, AI tools, manufacturing systems, financial modeling interfaces, healthcare, fitness, automotive. The kind of work that ranges from a stressed ops manager running a factory floor to a first-time car buyer trying to make sense of a decision that feels too big. I like both ends of that spectrum. The problems are different, but the discipline is the same: figure out what this person actually needs, then get out of their way.A few years ago I started taking AI seriously as a design problem, not just a technology problem. There\'s a big difference between bolting AI onto a product and actually designing for how a human being learns to trust a system they can\'t fully see. Most products get this wrong. For the past year I\'ve been doing independent work: designing, consulting, and building across a few different client engagements. It\'s been the most creatively wide-open period of my career.I don\'t fit cleanly into one box. Designer, yes, but also researcher, strategist, and increasingly, builder. I think that\'s where the job is going anyway.Open to the right opportunities. Happy to talk if something here resonates.
