About Priyank Krishna

PRIYANK KRISHNA was born in a musician family of Allahabad (Prayagraj). His formal training of classical music was with his father, the prominent Clarinet player, Pt. Ram Krishna. Having accompanied him in various music concerts, today Priyank Krishna is carving out a niche for himself particularly in the field of Saxophone. His recitals combine the melody of Gayaki and intricacies of Tantrakari Style of North Indian Classical Music, and are received well by audiences and music critics alike. He also plays the traditional Indian Flute (Bansuri). He recognition and awards include “Yuva Samraat Puraskar”, “Sangeet Kala Gaurav Award” & “Naad Saadhak”. He is approved as a “B-High Grade” Artiste of All India Radio. He has won many competitions in which 1st prize in U.P.Sangeet Natak Akademi (Lucknow), 1st prize in Harivallabh Music Competition, 2nd prize in Inter-University National Youth Festival held in Kalyani University, Kalyani (W.B.), 1st prize in Youth Fest Agra University (3 times ), 2nd prize in Inter-State Youth Festival (Varanasi), Bronze Trophy in All India Flute Competition by Sahara Lucknow are noticeable. He has been an active member of Agra University’s Cultural team for four years. He is also a recipient of “Scholarship for Young Artiste” by Ministry of HRD, New Delhi. He has performed in various prestigious music concerts like Summer Solistice Festical (UK), Klangtage Festival Berlin(Germany), Alchemy Festival (JLF)(London), India by the Nile (Egypt), Confluence Festival (Australia), Shared History festival (South Africa), Dranouter Festival (Belgium), Embassy of India (Ukraine), Ethno Music Festival (Germany), World Music Festival (Thailand), Institut Francais de Madagascar,(Madagascar), Summer Festival India International Centre (New Delhi), Vishnu Digambar Sammelan (Agra), IIHBT (Himachal), Jaipur Samaroh, Taj Mahotsav (Agra), Uttaradhikar (Bhopal), Ninaad mahotsav (Agra), Horizon Series ICCR(Lucknow), Sangeet Natak AKademi(New Delhi), ISwami Haridas Sangeet Mahotsav (Vrindavan), Mahakumbh (Prayagraj), Pt.Bholanath Prasanna Sangeet Samaroh(Jaipur), India Habitat Centre(New Delhi), SundriSamraat Sanget Mahotsav(Solapur) etc. Currently while performing regularly on stage concerts, he is implementing his thoughts, creative ideas as an honorary Secretary for “RAM KRISHNA FOUNDATION”.
