ABOUT PRIYA JAYAKODY

I specialize in business operations and strategy in the media & entertainment industries. I have worked in broadcast media, radio, ticketing, live events, digital media & technology. Since before my career began, I was fascinated by the dynamic between the right- and left-brained worlds. As a musician and arts lover, and someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, having both creative and analytical mindsets led me to carving a niche a career in the world of media & entertainment. As my career has evolved, I have become that person who bridges the communication and strategy gaps between creative, sales and operational departments in an organization, and who creates structure out of ambiguity when it\'s needed - and I absolutely love it. I have leadership experience with companies including Apple, Corus Entertainment, Ticketmaster/Live Nation, and Cineplex, where I\'ve done a combination of managing multi-million dollar key accounts, built long-lasting relationships, led internal business strategy and communications, and proposed and implemented pivotal process changes for sales teams. I also have experience running my own venture, Six Sense, by providing emotional intelligence thought leadership and advisory services. Throughout my career, I saw the need for EQ awareness and development in both corporate and startup spaces. I started Six Sense, where I advise, speak to and coach businesses on how to apply emotional intelligence in their workplace to increase productivity, retention and positive culture. I am fully certified to administer the EQ-i 2.0 & EQ 360. I also take on freelance writing opportunities ranging from leadership columns, case studies, biographies and other long form content- ABOUT ME: I am a true believer in building networks and community. I actively participate in my local business community and I am the co-founder of FEMME+(Female Entrepreneurs Making Moves Everywhere), a local women\'s networking group based in London, ON. When I\'m not working, I\'m probably attempting to master the New York Times Crossword, creating a new Spotify playlist, or getting outside for a long hike. I also recently took up rock climbing which has been a great new activity. I love languages and am always searching for opportunities to speak and write in French which I learned as a kid, and am currently teaching myself Spanish after having spent some time in Spain where I began to pick up the language throughout my travels- LANGUAGES: French (Fluent), Spanish (Conversational) PERMANENT WORK AUTHORIZATION: Canada, United Kingdom
