About Priyadarshini Dutta
As a neuroscience researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), I work with in vivo rodent models in systems neuroscience, supporting high-impact investigations into neural circuits, pain, and sensorimotor processing. With a Master\'s degree in Neuroscience (2024) and a Master\'s in Pharmacology (2018), I bring a strong foundation in the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disorders, CNS drug development and general pharmacology. I am proficient in a diverse range of cutting-edge techniques, including stereotaxic surgery, brain implants, JVC cannulation, viral injections, and dose administration in mice, rats, and rabbits. My experience also includes Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, qPCR, cell culture, and biochemical analysis to study pathways involved in ER stress, oxidative stress, and inflammation in conditions like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and peripheral neuropathy. I am skilled in PK/PD studies, behavioral assays, and data analysis using GraphPad Prism, MATLAB, and ImageJ. My work has been recognized in prestigious publications and conferences, reflecting my commitment to advancing scientific discourse and innovation. My previous experience as a Senior Research Aide at the Department of Ophthalmology at The Research Foundation for SUNY, I have both in-vivo and in-vitro experience in leading comprehensive investigations on retinal diseases and diabetic-related vascular complications. In addition to my research endeavors, I have also gained valuable insights into the US healthcare system through my previous role as a Team Lead at Clarivate, where I conducted market research and data analysis for various therapeutic drug classes and plans. Through active involvement in onboarding and training initiatives, I have played a pivotal role in nurturing successful research teams and delivering high-quality products and services. Driven by passion and a clear sense of purpose, I am eager to explore new opportunities that allow me to leverage my expertise and contribute meaningfully to the forefront of pharmacology and neuroscience research.
