About Priya Mishra

I am currently a sophomore at Purdue University pursuing a double major in Physics and Mathematics and a Semiconductors and Microelectronics certificate. I am particularly interested in condensed matter, and my goal is to translate what I have learned in the classroom to more practical applications or to phenomena that I can observe in the lab.My rigorous coursework in physics and math, including quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, mathematical methods, and more, has sharpened my ability to break down complex problems and think deeper about fundamental questions in physics. As a mentee in Purdue\'s Women in Science and Gender Minorities in Physics programs, I have made efforts to promote equity and representation in physics, participating in conferences like CU*iP and mentorship networks that empower those who may be underrepresented in the field.Most recently, I’ve had the privilege of working as an undergraduate researcher working with quantum 2D materials. This experience has allowed me to develop skills such as AFM, EFM, and the exfoliation/stacking process of graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), which, in combination, can create heterostructures with very interesting and useful quantum sensing and computing applications. I have also gained experience in drafting standard operating procedures and orally presenting scientific progress through research talks and poster presentations.Please feel free to connect!
