State Program Manager - Karnataka Climate Resilient Landscape

Led the strategic and operational aspects of the program in the biodiversity hotspot areas of the Western Ghats. The focus has been on targeting over Small-holder coffee farmers with advisories on the crop cycle, Value-Chain interventions as well as developing the training curriculum for extension functionaries & Farmers’ Institutions. Convening with government departments/bodies like the State Rural Livelihood Mission, the Coffee Board. the Spices Board, NABARD/NABAKISAN for the Farmers’ Institutions to be able to access services have been an important endeavour. As a member of IDH’s Global Agri-Business Unit’s team of Gender Champions, I have facilitated the Gender Strategy formulation process of this landscape program in Karnataka. Following the successful completion of the pilot project, the larger landscape-level program to target small holder coffee farmers has just been initiated.
