ABOUT PRISCILLA T.
I currently work as the sole UX/UI Designer for a restaurant software company, Speedline Solutions. Before that, I worked as a UX Designer for ZenXmed, a medical-tech startup creating iOS products to help physicians better diagnose and treat patients. Throughout the years, I have worked as an independent web consultant. My interests lie in the realm of interface and visual design. I am a strong conceptual designer who strives for designs backed by user needs/experience and business strategy rather than mere aesthetics. What makes me unique is the combination of my artistic ability with my background in business, writing and psychology. Formally trained in user experience and interface design, I hold a Bachelor\'s Degree in visual design with a specialization in UX from Université Laval, and a Bachelor\'s Degree in cognitive psychology from UBC. At the time, little did I know that the fields of digital design and HCI would mesh together so integrally!Minimalist design marks my work, and I thrive on helping businesses stand out from their competition by understanding their ideal clients and USP. My motto: good design is invisible. I live, eat and breathe design, business and technology, and am constantly learning the latest industry trends. While participating as a designer at the Startup Weekend Montreal in 2012, I helped my team to win the Grand Prize. In 2013, I helped my team to win 2nd Place at the Startup Weekend Vancouver. I was invited to be a UBC Alumni panelist speaker on entrepreneurship at the Career Xploration Event for Arts undergrads in January 2014 and speak about web and interface design at various Wordpress Meetup groups. I was also asked by Small Business BC to become a regular content contributor.If I had to retire, I would continue to work in a UX/UI capacity to fight climate change, as that is the biggest threat that we face today, more so than anything.
