About Priscilla Nguyen

I am a structural engineer with 6+ years of experience in various sectors including healthcare, higher education, and science & technology. I have seismic design and analysis experience with new and existing structures. I\'m a licensed PE in California and in Texas, and I\'m also a licensed structural engineer (SE) in CA. I believe civil/structural engineers have a social responsibility to design safe structures. I am interested in the equitable design of the built environment. How do we as designers and engineers ensure everyone regardless of background has access to sustainable buildings and services? How do we make sure the hospitals and schools in underprivileged communities are resilient and will be remain operational post-disasters?As my career progresses, I hope to grow, mentor, and lead and to provide my expertise in delivering successful projects. Through my professional associations, I participate in mentorship and volunteer opportunities in K-12 and university STEAM outreach with the goal of increasing the representation of Black and Latinx and/or low-income students in engineering.I am skilled in structural engineering software (SAP, ETABS, PERFORM, RAM, RISA), concrete, steel wood/timber, and masonry design, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Spanish, and Technical Writing. I am a strong structural analysis and design professional with a Master of Science (M.S.) focused in Structural Engineering & Geomechanics from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Architectural Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
