About Priscilla Knoble
Global Expansion is critical to any company that is serious about growth and has a product to offer that appeal to general human interests. That being said, having an offering that works in one country is not necessarily going to resonate with customers in another culture or country. Although we live in a world that is becoming increasingly “flat” in terms of access and marketplace, don’t let yourself be fooled into thinking that a customer’s language and culture within which they work and live is not a critical factor to your product and company’s success. Not only do you need to understand requirements specific to countries you want to sell into, you must arm yourself with research. Then your most difficult work begins…influencing and convincing senior leadership of not only the ROI in terms of dollars, but also the benefit to your brand. Last, but not least, putting out a quality, localized and culturalized product in a given language that will customers will want to engage with on a regular basis whether that be for work or fun.At Adobe, we are sensitive to developing not only simply localized products, but we make an effort to ensure that our products are also culturalized (i.e. features and content that are specifically tailored for country or language). Millions of creative people use our software worldwide and we continue to invest in localization and culturalization, making sure that our products are usable and engaging to all.Born and raised in Japan with complete fluency in the language, I have a unique viewpoint that has benefited U.S-based companies. I have spent the majority of my adult career working in major software companies (Adobe, Microsoft); helping them to understand the positive business and financial impact of culturalized product offerings to the top and bottom line. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of being responsible for International strategy, software globalization, product management, global market development…both our existing international as well as emerging markets, technical partner programs (System Integrators and Developers) and consulting with a variety of teams.Specialties: Fluent in Japanese, Publishing, International Product Development, Culturalization processes, and in-country User Product Research, Emerging Markets, Third-party Solution Developers and Extensibility, Cross-Company Collaboration.
