In-house counsel for Cleveland Metroparks, a regional special park district managing more than acres across Northeast Ohio including 18 park reservations, more than 325 miles of trails, nine golf courses, eight lakefront parks, dining and retail venues, marinas, and the nationally acclaimed Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.• Counsel client on a wide range of legal issues impacting the organization and its business objectives• Work cross-functionally with several departments and provide day-to-day legal advice • Draft, review, and negotiate a portfolio of 1,500+ commercial contracts, including grants, advertising, promotions, sponsorships, events, information technology, SaaS, cybersecurity, zoological, NDAs, independent contractor, professional services, master services, natural resources, and human resource related agreements • Provide legal and regulatory review of sweepstakes and contest rules, promotions, marketing disclaimers and disclosures• Advise leadership on intellectual property issues, including trademark protection • Identify applicable laws and regulations, assess risk to the business, and provide actionable advice to client • Draft park regulations • Advise on transactional and regulatory matters involving wildlife conservation and animal welfare, including the Zoo’s extensive work on Andean Bear Conservation in collaboration with the IUCN• Provide critical guidance on relevant statutes and regulations, including navigating complex liquor control regulations• Draft, negotiate, and advise on data protection agreements, terms of service, data privacy policies• Oversee the public records program in compliance with Ohio Sunshine Laws• Counsel client on maritime law issues
