Identifies research needs for INDOT Offices, Divisions and Districts and investigates and responds to requests for research information in the subject area. • Prepares, evaluates, presents and participates in research proposals, plans and reports and promotes research implementation. • Proposes and conducts research studies in bridge engineering/structural (maintenance cost reduction, life cycle analysis, corrosion mitigation, accelerated bridge construction, etc.). • Oversee Non-Destructive (NDT) Bridge Deck Testing Program. • Analyzes and distributes nondestructive testing data with emphasis on non-destructive bridge deck testing. • Provides guidance to INDOT technical committees, focus groups and study advisory committees. • Serves as project administrator for research projects. • Supervises data collection and analyses for research projects and testing equipment calibration. • Coordinates with research organizations, departmental staff, governmental agencies, industry producers and suppliers in area of expertise. • Assist in structural forensic investigation
