   As the Chief of Police for the City of Malin, Oregon, I serve as the executive head of the Malin Police Department and am responsible for all aspects of its leadership, administration, and daily operations. I oversee law enforcement activities within the city’s jurisdiction and ensure residents\' and visitors\' safety, protection, and quality of life through effective policing strategies, community engagement, and modern public safety practices.My role includes developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures in alignment with state and federal laws and ethical standards. I supervise personnel, manage department operations, prepare and administer the police budget, and pursue grant opportunities to support agency needs. Given the rural nature and limited staffing of the Malin Police Department, I also function as an operational officer, responding to calls for service, conducting investigations, performing traffic enforcement, and patrolling the community. This dual administrative and operational role requires adaptability, strong decision-making, and a deep commitment to the people I serve.Community engagement is central to my leadership philosophy. I foster trust between the police and the public through transparency, communication, and proactive outreach. I maintain open lines of communication to identify concerns and collaboratively solve problems. I also coordinate with neighboring law enforcement agencies and emergency services to ensure a unified regional response to public safety challenges.I am committed to officer wellness, ethical conduct, and professional development.
