About Preston Pehrson

For the past 11 years I worked in college football. I have grown up around coaching my whole life as a coaches kid. Growing up, my parents instilled the importance of hard work, working as a team, treating people with respect, and loyalty. These are all values that I use in my everyday work life. I have experienced a great deal of challenges and accomplishments in the coaching industry that can translate well over to any industry. As the Director of Player Personnel at both the University of Houston and the United States Naval Academy, as well as working as a Graduate Assistant at Georgia Tech, I have used sales tactics to recruit prospects and their families to these colleges. A number of these techniques can transfer over to other industries, such as constant communication on social media, organizing phone call lists for the staff, having graphics sent about our team and or college at certain times, and most importantly understanding and listening to what the individual is saying and wanting from you. To me these skills are invaluable. I have also managed 20-30 highly competitive people at any given time and organized ten or more recruiting schedules and plans so they know which high school to go to as well as what time and what day. Having also played sports all my life, I believe I have an excellent work ethic and a \"no job is too big or too small\" attitude. While looking for a job I want an organization that values ambitious and dedicated workers and expects them to take initiative and work diligently and be rewarded for doing so. I believe I can adapt to any profession with these skills and know that hard work overcomes everything. One of my biggest accomplishments to date isn\'t that I was apart of a team that won the Orange Bowl at Georgia Tech. It is that I worked 100 hour weeks and still graduated with a 3.4 GPA and a masters from Georgia Tech. This could have never been done without the values my parents instilled in me growing up.
