About Prescott Breeden
After graduating from Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor of Music, I moved to Seattle with my wife, where I started my own dog-training business. My passion for animal welfare led me to create the Society for the Promotion of Applied Research in Canine Science (SPARCS). While running SPARCS, I worked at ASU as a behavioral neuroscientist, collaborating with scientists worldwide. I was the first author in a paper published with Reviews in Neuroscience on the epistemological issues that have confounded research on animal consciousness. We proposed a new testing paradigm that focused on measuring the effective bandwidth of information transfer in an organism’s nervous system. Eventually, I sold SPARCS to pursue the love I discovered in programming with all of my energy. After graduating from Coding Dojo with black belts in all three stacks, I returned as an instructor. It was a privilege and joy to create a positive impact for my students. After teaching, I was a developer with the phenomenal team over at Amplify Consulting Partners in Bellevue and worked on teams and products for Microsoft, State of Colorado, Playboy and more. I am currently a software developer at Google and exploring the world with my beautiful wife and two daughters.
