Design Principal at EKDS, Ekta is an Architect and Interior Designer with a domain experience of over 20 years. Alumni of Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Architecture, Mumbai, Ekta started her career with architect T. Khareghat in Mumbai. She was deeply inspired by his style of clean lines, monochromatic, modern style of architecture. With her interest growing in Interior Design, she also trained with Urvaksh Aga Design & Ratan J. Batliboi and Associates and worked on some prestigious and widely published projects. Post a 5-year stint in Mumbai, she moved to New Delhi in 2002. Here she worked with Mani Chowfla Architects for 7 years, out of which she was an Associate Partner with them for 4 years. She worked on projects ranging from Institutional and Public buildings, Residential high-rise buildings and townhouses, Corporate office buildings, and luxury farmhouse projects amongst others. Her love for Interior architecture, made her start her own Design Studio in 2009, in New Delhi. Over a span of over a decade, she has successfully worked and handed over diverse projects including high-end Residential units, Corporate Office Interiors, Retail stores, and Institutional Interiors. With her designs, Ekta aims at creating beautifully crafted, elegant interiors, each with a solid character unique to a client. Her design philosophy features a refined use of sophisticated colors, textures, classic forms, and harmonious materials. With an eye for color and scale, she specializes in curating distinctive spaces, combining the old with the new, in a way that’s at once contemporary and timeless.
