ABOUT PEDRO RENDON
My interest in aerospace started early, inspired by the Space Shuttle, the ISS, and the X-15. What kept me going was not just the technology, but the idea that engineering could be a way to serve others and continually improve myself and those around me.Throughout college, I took initiative wherever I could. I worked continuously at times holding three jobs while attending school full time. When I helped start SharkSat (CSULB\'s Satellite Development Lab), it became more than a student project. It was a full-time responsibility, balancing systems work, leadership, fundraising, and technical execution. At the same time, I was working in the energy sector at California Resources Corporation, supporting the implementation of drone programs, while completing my aerospace engineering degree. Attending rigorous elective classes such as composite materials & compressible (supersonic) aerodynamics. Doing research with Dr. Karcher to learn more about data acquisition systems and additive manufacturing methods for wind tunnel testing.Those years shaped how I approach engineering today. I learned to be dependable, hands on, and adaptable, often stepping into unfamiliar roles and learning quickly. Just as importantly, I learned the value of teamwork, mentorship, and showing up consistently, even when things were difficult.My interests continue to evolve, but the motivation remains the same. I am drawn to work that serves a broader purpose, including drones for public and industrial service, experimental and supersonic aircraft, renewable energy systems, spacecraft, and reentry vehicles.
