ABOUT PREM RASHID DCLINSURG FRACS
Professor Prem Rashid is a urological surgeon with specific interests in prostate cancer, rehabilitation & restorative urology and has a strong education focus both for the general public and surgical training. He started the Port Macquarie Urology Centre in 1997. It has rapidly grown to become a referral centre. Past Head of Urology @ Port Macquarie Base Hospital.He has written extensively, specialising in ‘patient guide books’. His works have been endorsed by the New Zealand Continence Association, Continence Foundation of Australia, Urological Society of Australia & New Zealand (USANZ), Andrology Australia and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.He also actively publishes in peer reviewed medical journals on urological topics including cancer care, restorative functional urology, incontinence and surgical education. Past Chair, NSW Urological TAE sub-committee of USANZ Past Chair, Board of Urology, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He was appointed to; Faculty of the Academy of Surgical Educators & Examiner in Urology, RACS.Conjoint Professor, University of NSW, Member, Reference Group, Programs in Surgical Education, Master of Surgical Education Program, University of Melbourne Member of the NSW Special Advisory Board of MIGA. Current interests include further development of education initiatives in surgical training, medical education and clinical trials into the minimally invasive treatment options for prostate disease as well as, rehabilitation following treatment.
