National Institute of Technology Sikkim (NIT Sikkim or NIT SKM) is an Institute of National Importance located in the state of Sikkim, India. It is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology established across the country to provide high-quality technical education and promote advanced research. NIT Sikkim was established in 2009 under the 11th Five Year Plan by the Government of India and began functioning in August 2010. As one of the ten newly established NITs, it is dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering innovation in science and technology. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. It offers a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree, a Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree with specializations including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Power and Energy Systems, and VLSI Design, and a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Chemistry. NIT Sikkim also provides opportunities for advanced research through its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in various domains of engineering, sciences, and humanities.
