About Preetsinh Suratia
As an M.Tech graduate in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay, I am passionate about process design and engineering. Throughout my academic journey, I have honed my skills through hands-on projects with industry partners. During my Master\'s thesis project, I had the opportunity to work on an industrial-tied project with the Aditya Birla Group. Using MATLAB, I focused on modeling and estimation of batch pulp digesters, utilizing actual plant data for model validation and estimation. This experience not only strengthened my technical abilities but also provided me with valuable insights into real-world process optimization. In addition to my thesis project, I gained practical experience through simulating the Gas Cracker Unit (GCU) of Reliance (RIL-DMD). This project involved designing a comprehensive process flow and implementing various unit operations to convert shale gas into valuable compounds such as C2, C3, C4, and heavy compounds. Through this hands-on experience, I enhanced my analytical skills and developed a solid understanding of process simulation. Furthermore, I collaborated with an industrial partner on a project aimed at debottlenecking an Aluminum Chloride plant. Our team successfully improved the reactor-condenser performance, ultimately enhancing the plant\'s capacity. This project allowed me to apply my knowledge of process optimization techniques and reinforced the importance of efficient and effective operations. In summary, my academic background in Chemical Engineering, combined with my practical experience in process design and engineering, has equipped me with a strong foundation to excel in this field.
