ABOUT PREET PATEL

An avid learner and effective communicator, I am a civil engineer with demonstrated experience delivering complex rail transit projects across Canada. I currently work within Arup’s North Rail Systems team, concentrating on systems engineering, systems assurance, interface management, and design management for major infrastructure projects. My responsibilities include interface tracking and coordination for all Interface Control Documents (ICDs), development of interface management plans, requirements management, and overseeing systems design deliverables. I have contributed to projects such as the Finch West LRT, supporting project closeout activities, safety certification development, and multidisciplinary coordination and the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension, where I assisted in developing interface registers and requirements specifications. I have also been involved in systems engineering tasks on large-scale rail projects, assisting in the preparation of strategy documents, design vision, and design guidelines. Through these roles, I have gained valuable insights into overall project and system life cycles, complemented by a comprehensive understanding of verification and validation processes. My diverse project experience has equipped me with a strong understanding of systems integration, multidisciplinary coordination, and the delivery of complex transit programmes. My prior experience encompasses product information management (PIM), project planning and coordination, estimating, and the preparation of technical reports and CAD documentation.
