Wills and estates lawyer practicing in Alberta and the Northwest Territories with a primary focus on estate litigation and administration. Peter’s practice involves resolving complex estate and trust disputes, helping families with the probate and estate administration process and bringing about a peace of mind by creating will, powers of attorney and personal directives. Executors and beneficiaries turn to Peter when facing tough, contested claims. These disputes involve issues such as: • Interpretation of wills • Dependant relief • Executor or Power of Attorney compensation • Removal of executors or attorneys • Challenges to gifts • Will challenges • Transfers of assets into joint names • Probate Peter also regularly acts in matters involving Power of Attorney disputes, mental capacity litigation and adult guardianship and trusteeship issues. Peter has presented on estate topics for the Legal Education Society of Alberta and CPLED and frequently teaches adult education courses about estate planning and executor duties. He recently obtained his designation as a Trust and Estate Practitioner through the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, an international body for professional advisers in the trust and estate administration field.
