Created the data ingestion pipeline for daily data updates and ingestion in the new books index for Amazon which is powering all new books experiences. The pipeline is able to ingest more than 300M amazon books catalog data and more than 18B ownership data in the index• Set up the data quality framework for the new books index to detect correctness of data in the index. This helped take the wishlists data integrity from 70% to 99%.• Led the development of a new recommendation carousel that shows recommendations related to genres of books owned by customers. The shoveler is ranked top-most in the Kindle Unlimited storefront page generating >10K ebook borrows per week• Enhanced the recommendation engine pipeline to accept custom metadata as input and generate output metadata along with recommendations. This allowed the team to experiment >10 recommendation shoveler experiments in a year• Created the ”Read for Free” and ”Read Now” button on the Amazon Search page for borrow eligible and borrowed books respectively available under programs like Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading in the US marketplace. Both the buttons are shown an average of 400K times hourly• Updated the books ingestion workflow to identify unsupported file types displaying appropriate messages, thereby improving the CX for authors and publishers, and resolving 4% of errors
