About Pratik Thorwe
I am pursuing a Master of Science degree in the computer science department at Stony brook University, New York. Also working as a TA and Graduate Researcher under Professor Pramod Ganapathi. I worked as a Software Engineer intern in the Instagram Growth Activation Team at Meta where I enhanced the user experience at the account recovery stage of Instagram by designing and implementing an architecture for integrating sentry (run-time configurable framework for monitoring security logs) with Instagram’s backend using Django (Python), to cut down the suspicious attempts while minimizing the impact on genuine users. Have worked at Deloitte as a Software Development Engineer within Advisory specializing in the area of Cyber Security Operations and Automation. Have a decent experience with the Automation tool phantom, security tools like Splunk, Carbon Black, Symantec, Cylance, and cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure. I have completed my Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from Mumbai University. I have also published a paper in Sponsored conference (9th International Conference On Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies) on the topic: Sensor Data Analysis Using Moving Average Filter and 256-point FFT. I am an internationally rated chess player and have represented Mumbai university at the national level for 4 years (20••••18). I also represented India in the International tournament held in Moscow (Russia) in 2010. I also got an opportunity to play against Grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand (the world champion at that time ) in Mumbai in 2011.
