As a Math Instructor at Mathnasium, I undertake several responsibilities to ensure effective engagement with students of all grade levels:1. Continuous Engagement and Disengagement- Regularly interact with students of various grades- Focus on fostering mental math skills, encouraging less reliance on paper and pencil.2. Structured Approach to Daily Activities- Greet students upon arrival and assist them in filling out their daily workout plan (Sign-in)- Empower students with meaningful tasks, promoting independent problem-solving skills- Avoid constant instructor dependency, encouraging students to think and work on problems by themselves.3. Interactive Classroom Setup:Position ourselves in front of students rather than sitting beside them- When students raise their hands, approach them directly to read and discuss their questions- Ensure face-to-face interaction for betterunderstanding and communication.4. Structured Learning Sections- Implement various sections like Prescriptives, WOB (Work Out Books) etc.Students document their daily activities in aprovided binder book.Conduct Mastery Checks after a certain number of pages, allowing students to spin a wheel for a chance to win prizes- Utilize a card system to recognize and reward achievements.5. Development of Interest in Maths- Employ a strategic and elaborate process to instill interest in mathematics- Deviate from traditional teaching methods to create a more engaging and enjoyable learning environment.By incorporating these methods, Mathnasium aims to enhance students\' mathematical skills and foster a genuine interest in the subject.
