About Prathik Bhat
As a fresh-faced graduate engineer in a renowned MNC, I was assigned to the manual testing domain. However much fun it was to build complex scenarios and break down systems, monotony grew in me. It was either this disdain for monotonous tasks or the urge to solve problems that I binge watched a lot of courses on different automation technologies and built myself an automation framework to escape the repetitive manual tasks. Before long, I found myself being moved around to different projects to build more complex frameworks.Fascinated by AI and Industry 4.0, I joined Quartic.ai to expand my horizon. I spearheaded the development of an automation suite to test the AI cloud and on-premise platform, achieving a test coverage of 90%. This was an important milestone. For the company, it went on to save a ton of time and resources invested in quality assurance. For me, it had fuelled my curiosity to dig into the inner workings of the platform.I spent countless hours exploring the wonderfully built architecture that facilitated data streaming from various IoT data sources, applying of aggregations and predictions, sampling and storing to timeseries data warehouse, deploying ML models and visualisation of data. Intrigued and inspired by the craftsmanship, I decided to go all-in, to pursue different tools and technologies in the field of data engineering. With Python being my trusty sidekick, I delved into data architectures like Kafka, PySpark, InfluxDb, Airflow, TimescaleDB, and even the magical realm of Kubernetes.Since then, I have been developing and upgrading the data pipelines to provide more scalability, high availability and robustness. I am looking forward to designing more and more intuitive architectures that could help the organisation effectively analyse and process terabytes of structured and unstructured data.
