At Kaiser Permanente, I had the opportunity to lead the development of a HIPAA-compliant AI-powered Patient Inquiry Assistant using GPT-4. This initiative significantly reduced the patient call center load by 45%, allowing healthcare staff to focus on more critical tasks. I built secure, scalable RESTful APIs integrated with Epic EHR, employing OAuth2 and JWT to ensure patient data privacy and compliance with strict healthcare regulations.On the frontend, I crafted a responsive user experience using React.js and Tailwind CSS, enabling seamless, real-time patient interactions on both desktop and mobile platforms. The backend was containerized with Docker and orchestrated through Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring robust, scalable deployment. Collaboration was key — I worked closely with compliance and DevSecOps teams to implement role-based access control (RBAC), audit logging, and penetration-tested CI/CD pipelines to protect sensitive health information.This role enhanced my expertise in cloud-native architectures (Azure), modern frontend/backend frameworks, and secure application design, delivering high-impact solutions in a highly regulated environment.
