ABOUT PRATHAMESH KURADE
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Energy Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay, where my research focuses on optimizing passive energy efficiency in buildings to achieve net-zero energy performance. I have completed my Master’s in Heat Power Engineering and bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, both with distinction, which have given me a strong foundation in energy systems and mechanical design.Prior to my Ph.D, I worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi, on a sponsored project titled \"Under-Actuated Filterless Air Cleaner Retrofit for Rolling Stock and Vehicles\" in collaboration with Swachh.io. This project aimed at mitigating air pollution in New Delhi by designing and developing innovative filterless air cleaners using cutting-edge techniques in aerodynamic drag and centrifugal separation.In addition to my academic and research pursuits, I am an integral part of Team SHUNYA (Sustainable Housing for an Urbanizing Nation by its Young Aspirants) at IIT Bombay, serving as the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. This student-driven technical team is committed to creating sustainable habitats in India. My contributions include designing energy-efficient HVAC systems for enhanced indoor air quality, retrofitting primary healthcare centers, and integrating sustainable technologies into housing projects to address modern urban challenges.
