Solihull, GB

Responsible for battery modelling and electrical powertrain system modelling within a Simulink and Simscape environment of a distributed inverter e-powertrain system.Responsibilities include parametrising and modelling battery cells and modules, writing MATLAB scripts to autogenerate system models based on architecture, writing scripts to analyse test rig data collected by Oxygen data acquisition, automating model running, correlating e-powertrain system models against rig data and implementing a git based source control.Having worked on a distributed inverter e-powertrain system, I\'ve further enhanced my understanding of battery modelling and gained a basic understanding of switching devices and 3 phase AC modelling.

ABOUT PRASHANTH KALAISELVAN

Chartered engineer in the Automotive industry with a focus on 1D physical modelling and a Chemical Engineering background. My expertise in 1D modelling has spanned a range of components with a focus on electrical and thermal systems. I\'ve used my in depth knowledge of Simscape, Simulink and Matlab to model components from battery cells in a distributed inverter system to pumps and chillers in a EV thermal system.I have applied my modelling and simulation skills on a range of projects. This includes assembling a distributed inverter system model for an e-powertrain and setting up a battery coolant circuit model for an electric vehicle using Simscape and Simulink.I have also used this model to simulate a range of conditions and correlated against rig data. This included writing data analysis scripts to process both test and simulation data to further automate the modelling process. In the emissions modelling sphere my work includes saving 100s of hours of physical test time in the calibration process, prediciting necessary flow conditions to meet emissions regulations, providing boundary conditions for 3D CFD models to be calibrated against, and supplying a fast running catalyst model to the HiL rig team capable of real time emissions prediction. Additionally, I have experience in areas such as Exothermia suite modelling, Calibration, Lithium Cells, Product Strategy and Powertrain Quality. Apart from modelling, my other areas of expertise include experimental data collection for model building, sensitivity studies and model mapping, 8D problem solving, test planning and project management.MEng Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London.
