ABOUT PRASHANTH GANESH
I am a Civil Engineering professional with a strong interest in structural design and infrastructure development. My engineering journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, where I developed a solid foundation in structural mechanics, construction principles, and engineering analysis. To further deepen my technical expertise, I pursued an MSc in Civil Engineering at Swansea University in the United Kingdom, gaining advanced knowledge in structural engineering, geotechnical applications, and engineering analysis. Currently, I work as a Design Engineer where I develop detailed 2D and 3D structural models and engineering drawings using industry-standard tools such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, and Revit. My responsibilities include interpreting project specifications, performing structural analysis using MATLAB and finite element methods, and preparing technical documentation to support design approvals and construction delivery. I work closely with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure designs are accurate, efficient, and aligned with engineering standards. Previously, I gained practical construction experience as a Site Engineer in the UK, supporting site operations including setting out works, monitoring construction progress, assisting with inspections, and ensuring compliance with project drawings and health and safety requirements. This experience helped me understand the practical challenges of construction projects and strengthened my ability to translate engineering designs into real-world implementation. My core strengths include structural detailing, engineering design, analytical problem-solving, and multidisciplinary collaboration. I am proficient in several engineering tools including Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Revit, MATLAB, Finite Element Methods, and ArcGIS Pro, enabling me to contribute effectively to both design coordination and technical analysis. I am a Graduate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and I am actively working towards achieving Chartered Engineer status.
