As the Health Information Management Informatics Specialist, my responsibility is to report to the Regional Coordinator, HIM Informatics. In this capacity, I am in charge of implementing optimization, process improvement, quality, and standards initiatives within the organizational/HIM strategic plan. I work collaboratively with operational leaders, service, program, staff, and physicians to integrate health information and technology, supporting change initiatives that streamline health information practices and enhance access to patient/client information and clinical documentation through the Electronic Health Record (EHR).As a key member of the regional multi-disciplinary team, I oversee the development and redesign of workflows and processes, aiming to achieve significant improvements in the overall effectiveness and efficiency of Island Health. My main focus lies in harnessing technology and continuous improvement strategies to elevate health information management practices across the organization.
