Strategy & PlanningDevelop state-level collection strategy aligned with overall company targets and risk framework.Segment delinquency buckets; define plans for early-stage, mid-stage, late-stage recovery.Forecast state-level collections, set targets (monthly / quarterly) and ensure achievement.2. Team Leadership & OperationsLead/manage teams of Collection Managers / Area Collection Managers / Field/Agency teams within the state.Provide coaching, training, performance evaluation; build capability in the team.Ensure process discipline – field visits, payment reminders, follow-ups, escalations.3. Portfolio Monitoring & Performance ManagementMonitor key metrics: roll rates, delinquency buckets (DPD: days past due), recovery rates, resolution rates, cost of collection etc.Analyze root causes of underperformance; take corrective action.Maintain MIS, dashboards; provide insights to senior leadership.4. External Stakeholder / Agency ManagementOversee third party collection agencies if used; set SLAs, monitor their performance.Coordinate legal / recovery / repossession process as required.Engage with legal, compliance, risk teams for escalations or regulatory issues.5. Process Improvement & EfficiencyRecommend and implement process improvements in collection workflows.Leverage technology – e.g. digital reminders, automation, analytics.Optimize cost vs. recovery; ensure operational efficiency.6. Compliance & GovernanceEnsure state operations comply with company policy, regulatory guidelines, legal requirements.Manage escalations, audits, documentation and records.Adhere to ethical collection practices.7. Reporting & CoordinationRegularly report state performance vs targets to zonal / national heads.Take part in strategic discussions for product / risk / operations where collection feedback is relevant.Coordinate with other functions (Risk, Product, Operations, Legal) for better outcomes.
