ABOUT PRASHANT KALYAN
Prashant is a former Clinical Advisor of Abano Healthcare (Lumino The Dentists, Maven Dental Group, 1300Smiles and Bupa Dental NZ). This trans-Tasman business has collective annualised revenue of approximately NZ$300 million and more than 2,500 staff who operate through well over 280 clinics across both countries.During his time at Abano Healthcare, his key roles were to provide clinical advice supporting the Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Procurement, and the operations arms of the business. From a clinical network aspect he was a clinical advisor and mentor across the dental practices and a Clinical Advisory Board member. Additionally Prashant maintained key stakeholder relationships with the Dental Council of New Zealand (DCNZ), the New Zealand Dental Association ((NZDA), The Ministry of Health (MoH), oversight and governance of DHB contracted practices and support in ongoing Mergers/Acquisitions, with most recently leading the clinical due diligence in acquiring Bupa Dental NZ. Prashant obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)– University of Otago (1993). He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA)– University of Otago (2003).Prashant is an experienced senior executive with a background in clinical care, healthcare management, and clinical mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Abano Healthcare Group, Prashant has held positions as a clinician at various dental practices, and has been a Director of QualityCare Dental Group and First Aid Supply Team. Prashant has attend and completed the Senior Executive Programme at the prestigious Harvard Business School in 2019, specifically focussed on the “Strategy for Delivery of HealthCare”. Prashant is a member of the New Dental Association(NZDA), Auckland Dental Association(ADA), a former mentor with the NZDA Mentorship Program and current mentor for clinicians with the Dental Council of New Zealand (DCNZ).
